About Skyborne Airline Academy

Skyborne Airline Academy is an international flight training school based at Vero Beach Regional Airport. Students come primarily from the UK, Europe, and Asia for intensive 12–18 month training programs to earn commercial pilot certifications. Most arrive in the U.S. for the first time, without established credit history, without a car, and with limited knowledge of the local area.

Skyborne's campus is at the Vero Beach Regional Airport. Our nearest properties are 5–10 minutes away by car, and some are close enough to bike in good weather. For students arriving without a car, we recommend properties along Aviation Boulevard and the 43rd Avenue corridor — these are the most accessible routes to the airport on foot or by bicycle while you get settled.

The neighborhood around Skyborne

The airport area is quieter than the beach side but well-served for daily needs. Publix and Walmart are within a few minutes. There are affordable restaurants along US-1. The beach is a 10–15 minute drive. Many Skyborne students eventually buy a used car or share rides with classmates — the area becomes very livable once you're oriented. We provide a move-in guide with local tips for international arrivals.

Several North Crane Living properties are 5–10 minutes from Vero Beach Regional Airport where Skyborne is based. The Shoreline at 19th is the closest, about 5 minutes away. The Oaks at Royal Palm is about 10 minutes away with a more affordable starting rent.

Do I need a car as a Skyborne student in Vero Beach?

Not immediately. Properties near the airport are accessible by bicycle for the daily commute to Skyborne. For grocery shopping and exploring, many students buy an affordable used car within their first month or arrange rides with classmates. We can recommend where to shop for vehicles locally.

How do I set up utilities as an international student?

We provide a move-in guide covering utility setup for international arrivals. You'll need FPL (Florida Power & Light) for electric and an internet provider (AT&T or Xfinity). Some of our properties include water and trash in rent. We'll walk you through each step — no Social Security Number is required for most utility accounts.

What lease length works for Skyborne training programs?

Most Skyborne programs run 12–18 months, which aligns well with our standard 12-month lease. We can discuss options for students whose training timeline differs. Contact us with your expected training dates and we'll find the right fit.
